Long term fridge baking soda box replacement!
It isn’t easy to review a product such as this that just “silently” works. For decades I have used the good old baking soda in the back of my fridge to help with moisture and odor. Replaced the box regularly. Did it work? I don’t know, but I didn’t have any bad odors in the fridge. I also don’t know if I would have had odors or moisture problems without the baking soda box.So, now, I replaced that baking soda box with the Domnix which is supposed to do the same thing. Since I have replaced it, I am happy to report there are no new odors or moisture problems in my fridge. Does it work, I will believe it does just like the baking soda has for decades. The best part about the Domnix can, it looks so much better than the baking soda box in my fridge, and it will do it’s job for the next ten years.One thing I did end up doing, which was not provided for on the Domnix can itself, I put a piece of tape with the date I put it in the fridge. That way, in ten years I will know when it is time to replace.BTW, for anyone getting this. There is nothing you need to do with the metal can, just place it in the fridge. Nothing to open, start, insert. It does come with two additional charcoal bags to help eliminate odor in other places. I have placed these in my pantry to see how it does with the mix of spice flavors throughout.

MOSTLY recommend, with one hesitation…
I am going to first start off with this one small yet important detail that is the ONLY reason I took away a star. When I got this product, it came with the small device, as well as the two charcoal bags which it indicates are what traps or neutralizes the odor. I sat there trying to open the dang device with everything I could think of that wouldn’t damage it, and I gave up! I went back to see what other reviews said, and the only other one up yet had pointed out that she ALSO didn’t realize at first that those are just extra ones they provide you to use as you’d like, NOT ones that go inside the unit itself. SO, finding that out was a big relief because I was very eager to try this and feeling like I wouldn’t be able to.SO – seller – if you see this – PLEASE CHANGE YOUR INSTRUCTION MANUAL TO LET BUYERS KNOW VERY CLEARLY THE EXTRA TWO PROVIDED DO ****NOT*** go INSIDE the device! That is my most important thing to say!I have been using the actual item for about a week or so, and I actually am noticing a bit of a difference. I have the main one next to the area where I keep my dog’s pee pads (he’s older and little and won’t go outside if its cold or wet, lol) but that is the area I felt it most important to eliminate as much of the odor as possible even thought I change them out multiple times a day. And I do feel like it’s not as bad when I’m switching them out so that’s excellent!I decided to put one of the extra bags inisde the bottom of my main 13 gallon trash, like underneath the actual garbage bad, because unfortunately my garbage doesn’t have any kind of inner liner to protect against odors; I think because it is electric and works off of sensors or something, it possibly prevented them from doing so. on THIS partiuclar area, I’m not noticing a HUGE difference but I do know WHY. The seller does explain that its best to keep them in areas where the air is moving around, and obviously sitting inside a garbage can at the bottom equals zero air flow, lol.As for the FINAL charcoal bag- I put it in the bathroom discreetly but still where it will get some air movement. My bathroom never seems to hold on to any kind of scented products for long and its very frustrating! So, we will see how that one goesI realize the main place to put these is suggested to be in a fridge. Well, guess what? My fridge never stinks! Ever! So, why waste it on that? I think here it’s very much okay to be creative, and although I feel like I’d be a bit hesitant to pay $30 for them, that’s truly only because I haven’t had enough time to really see what they do, how long they last, etc. I do think they are worth a try especially because you are getting those 2 extras as well! Overall, I would recommend the product. But just a price point YOU feel comfortable with.As always, I will come back and update my review later when I can give a better idea of everything. Trusting the science
Objectively my fridge smells better? We usually stick a pack of baking soda and remember to change way less frequently than we should. If that’s also you – buy this. You can forget it and replace it the next time you replace your fridge. I can’t believe this lasts for 10 years. For the price, the cost of baking soda over 10 years will be way more expensive and you probably don’t always have fresh baking soda – who replaces those that regularly?It’s also nice that it comes with 2 charcoal packs (these are separate). You can stick those in a sock drawer? If you keep your dirty socks there. I honestly haven’t found a good place to put those yet. But all you have to do is stick them in the sun every 1-2 months for the sun to purge the odors (again trusting the science here) and you’re good for up to 2 years.I’d recommend these based on price for number of years of performance.

The product made a confusing first impression due to unclear instructions. It presents the two charcoal bags and the fridge deodorizer together, even though they’re completely separate items, which adds to the initial confusion.That said, the charcoal bags are excellent. I placed them in a musty cabinet under the bathroom sink, and they completely eliminated the odor overnight—very effective.The fridge deodorizer was less impressive at first but did improve over time. It reduced odors by about 30–40% overnight and gradually removed around 90% after three days. It seems more effective on some odors than others. My fridge is fairly large, so it’s possible that more than one deodorizer is needed.I’m also skeptical of the “10-year” lifespan claim. The packaging suggests placing it in sunlight to maintain effectiveness, but it’s unclear whether that applies to the deodorizer, the charcoal bags, or both. On a positive note, the deodorizer feels solid and well made, though I’m not a fan of the visible branding.Overall, the product didn’t blow me away, but it’s effective—especially the charcoal bags. If the deodorizer lasts at least a year, it’s worth the price.
