Great user friendly Android phone.
This phone is very user friendly. I love that it still has a headphone jack, which I use for headphones and for AV jack to run through my car stereo (not everyone has the newest car technology). It did take some investigation to figure out how to get the phone to let me speak through my headset, but I figured it out in less than 10 minutes. I love that I can keep my home screen free of cluttered icons all over the screen (photo included). I also like that I don’t have a search bar in the middle of the home screen. I wanted a phone with good memory, this one has 128GB which is great for my needs. I also wanted a phone that would take my SD card, this one does. I needed a phone that could handle my 800 plus contacts list without losing them. I wanted an Android phone; this is an Android 15 version. I love the big display screen, and it has great clarity. It takes great photographs (photo of peony’s included). I wanted a phone where I had the choice of security features. I did not want to have to use face ID or fingerprint ID and on this phone, it is available but not required. The phone color wasn’t my favorite, but the phone case I chose took care of that. The phone had much better sound quality and reception than my previous phone. The battery life is great! It is lasting me most times 2 days. I am very happy with that.

Love Motorola
I have been feeling like I needed a new phone and was coming from a Motorola Moto G 5G (2022) model. Because I had such a good experience with it, I wanted to stick with Motorola having came from OnePlus prior. The Motorola Moto G Power 5G (2025) is simply amazing. It was a noticable upgrade being faster and sleeker looking. It has an amazing front and rear camera and the photos have looked great. It has plenty of space at 128GB with optional added storage with an SDcard and 8GB of RAM plus 4GB for ram boost. It still has a head phone jack which is perfect because I still have a tape player in my van so I hook my phone up to it with one of those aux to tape set ups and then I can listen to my music while on a long trip from my phone. The best thing I love about Motorola is their UI which is as close to Vanilla Android as you’ll get unless you were to grab a Pixel of course. So it functions much closer to how Google intended without all the extra bloat *cough* Samsung *cough*.The phone did not come with a charger though which I suppose can be a con but many will have an USB C adapter already. I was using my original 10W adapter from my previous Motorola until I ordered the Motorola 30W adapter as this 2025 version can “Turbo Power” charge at 30W which has been amazing. The phone charges in no time but also the battery lasts an entire day with ease. My OnePlus Nord N10 I used to have would drain the battery so bad it would barely make it half day. Which is why I originally moved back to Motorola. The screen is slightly larger than the 2022 Moto G 5G and can do both 60 and 120Hz refresh rate. Also the screen can be very bright! I usually keep auto brightness off and at night lower the brightness almost all the way to the left and it still pretty bright and during the day in sunlight, the screen is still legible with the brightness turned up.The best feature for me that was missing on the 2022 version is NFC. Now with my new Motorola G Power 5G, I have NFC support which allows me to easily use Google Wallet for tap pay at stores!Oh and the Midnight Grey color is absolutely gorgeous and makes the phone feel even more premium without the premium price tag.So if your looking for an easy to use and premium looking Android phone that is close to a vanilla experience like Pixel without the premium price, I can’t recommend this phone enough!Motorola has been amazing and definitely will be my Android choice from now on.

Best Moto G Power to 2025
The G Power 5G 2024 continues the reputation of the G series of being bang for buck and reliable. This is a 4th Moto G phone to add to our household, all working like new since 2022. I need phones for communication and a road warrior tool. Faster speed always helps.Over a week, its a solid performer out of the box, and lives up to the advertised tech spec. No bugs or glitches. I’ll touch items not mentioned in other reviews, and address some criticisms. The 2024 its a substantial upgrade from prior Power Models and SoC is faster than the 2025. Geekbench score shows its speed and its easily noticeable in use. If you prefer OLED screens, the Stylus 2024 is equally well made and slightly better hardware, for $70+ more, or more IP proofing, the 2025 is $120 more. Its faster CPU, 120 refresh rate, more RAM, and 5G are power hungry, you’d expect runtime to shorten, as it has the same 5Ah battery of the series. Luckily, Android 15 has better power management which are implemented well and options to save even more. With these, battery life is as good or better than my 4G only phones without sacrificing performance. Its a key reason I didn’t mind a 5G phone now, as early 5G phones suffered this issue. The 2024 has a battery wear saver by limiting charging to 80% SoC which I previously emulated using aftermarket apps. It fast charges faster than my prior Moto phones which uses Turbo Power.I migrated my prior phone with the phone’s built in tool, connect both with the supplied USB-C cable and it “cloned” the phone automatically. It copied everything, including desktops and Android configurations, such as fingerprints, Moto Actions and Camera settings which didn’t happen on my last upgrade in 2022. I did have to re-log chat apps and configure non-gmail email. After the phone finished initialization, it installed all prior firmware updates up to Feb 2025. It was over 6, and took 6+ hours but the phone could be use while it updated. LCD is close to and as clear as the stylus pOLED 2024 in dpi, so images are as sharp, but pOLED is much brighter and has greater dynamic range, particularly viewed in sunlight. Its dual SIM and easily switched to either, allowing full customization to each SIM, one SIM card and another eSIM. Wifi is still 802.11ac, 300Mbps, similar to the 2022 Stylus, tested with Ookla. Its USB-C jacked but 2.0 speed. Wifi Calling works on both SIMs. I put a 256GB microSD, formatted and transferred all the photos in the phone carried over by the migration to the card. The camera works well, but I haven’t compared its quality to better phones. It has great stereo sound, bluetooth connectivity, and plays 4K videos perfectly. I do not play games, use NFC, or wireless charging, so did not test its capability here.In sum, I’d easily buy this phone again and give its successor, priority.
