Could not connect via bluetooth / Connection a bit loose / Could not use at all.
I could not connect via bluetooth to an iPhone that was only a few months old. I’m not sure if it has to do with a connection at the C connection was a bit loose. I tried on a friend’s iPhone and had the same result. Could not use at all.

Affordable; consistent, but maybe not overly accurate
For the price, it’s a pretty cool device. The app is basic, but overall it works and gives consistent readings when used correctly. The USB C plug is long enough to work with my phone case. It uses Bluetooth to connect to it, so I think the USB C is just for power. You do not put your lips on it – you simply blow for 4 seconds into the air vents on it.I have pictures of 0.00%, 0.05%, and 0.18%. When not drinking, it always records a 0.00%. I’m 6’2″, 240lbs – after 7 beers in 2.5 hours, it read 0.05%. This is where I felt it was a tad low – I’m pretty sure I was >= the 0.08% limit in my state. I blew multiple times and it gave the same reading, so at least it is consistent. Most breathalyzers say you should not eat or drink for up to 30 minutes before blowing. The instructions for this don’t mention anything, but at the time I blew 0.05%, I also took a sip of whiskey and then immediately blew into it. That is when I got the 0.18%. After waiting a few minutes, it went back to 0.05%.While the readings are very consistent, I’m not convinced they are totally accurate. It is a fraction of the price of a real calibrated breathalyzer, so I wasn’t expecting it to be a real “can I drive” test. It would be nice if the app had some sort of calibration mode. For now, I’m going to 2x the result in my head until I do some more readings.

Powerful tool against drunk driving
This is a really cool and moderately priced piece of technology to help fight against drunk driving. Its very small and lightweight, you can easily store it inside your car’s center console or glove box or keep it in your pocket when you are out drinking. The app was easy to find and download in the iOS store, and the Android app has a QR code to download it directly. The app is very bare-bones. I tested it with some mouthwash, and it did sense the alcohol on my breath. I blew three times and got a different measurement each time that was within .02 of each other so I assume this is fairly accurate, although I’m not 100% sure how accurate it is. It does detect alcohol and it did give lower and lower readings as a few minutes passed with each reading. Its nice that you don’t have to put your mouth right on it, you just have to kind of blow “at it”, so multiple people can use it if you are out with other people, and you don’t have to worry about someone else’s mouth germs getting directly on your phone or the device. My only complaint is that the app is very bare-bones. It gives suggestions for how long you should wait before driving after you blow a certain BAC, but IMO this should take into account many factors like your gender, age, height, weight, etc. which could easily be entered into the app somewhere to give a better determination of time it would take to drive safely. I believe the general knowledge is 2 drinks in an hour to get to .08 and the average person will burn one drink an hour, yet I blew a .07 and it said I had to wait 7.5 hours before driving. Hopefully the manufacturer will update the app as time goes and more units sell to make the unit even better, but as is, the functionality is definitely very useful and at just $20 its much cheaper than lawyers and a DUI charge!Don’t drive drunk, get one of these and make sure!

So poorly calibrated it isn’t useful.
The breathalyzer is a small device that plugs into the base of your phone with a USB-C plug. To work on my Android phone requires an app, for which there is a QR code in the documentation leaflet. (The leaflet gives app instructions for both Apple and Android devices.)Unfortunately the QR code leads not to an app in the Google Play store but to an unlabeled APK file at an anonymous cloud website address. I’m definitely not downloading this one, it could be malware and has received no checking for safety. After searching the Play Store I found an app named “AirSensorTool” published by Shenzhen Hanwei IoT Co Ltd. This appears to work. The connection from the phone to the sensor device works about half the time — if it fails, keep trying. The readings I get are too high to be plausible or useful, however. I tested my BAC after half a can of normal strength beer. The device showed me having a BAC of 0.16%, which is twice the legal limit to drive, and said it would take 15.5 hours for my blood alcohol to return to normal. This isn’t remotely plausible: for a person of my size and weight, it would take probably 4-5 cans of beer to reach this level. I understand that a device at this price point isn’t going to be especially accurate, but this inaccuracy is just too large. The app issue is concerning as well — hopefully the instructions supplied with the device will be updated with a link to the play store. Nobody should be asked to install a completely untrusted Android app from an anonymous web address.

Cool Concept, Needs Improvement in Calibration
Overall, I think this smartphone breathilizer from WeGoIOT is a great idea, but needs improvement. It is compact and fits well in a pocket when you’re out and about. The app is functional and the USB port fits decently well. Unfortunately, however, the BAC readings are not very accurate based on some trial and error drinking smaller and larger quantities of alcohol, making me distrust what it reports.

Just wouldn’t connect
The USB-C was loose, and the app could not find the device. I tried multiple times to get my phone to recognize it, but to no avail. I wish I could have tried it, but with what I am trying, I will have to give it the lowest rating possible because the device does not connect. The directions may have had more explanation, but they used a .5 font.
