They appreciate its functionality, value for money, and lightweight design, with one customer noting it’s easy to carry up tall ladders. The drill receives positive feedback for its torque, with one mentioning it’s sufficient for driving 3″ screws into oak. Makita drill
Super fast delivery! Item looks to be of the usual high quality Makita standards. I use these everyday.

Best bang for the buck for a professional drill
I bought this drill to replace an earlier one that had the chuck seize after 12 years. It was badly corroded and I could have prevented the failure. I ran a small construction company for 9 years and learned that Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee, and Porter Cable make the best tools. Makita is the most reasonably priced among these, for a tool you intend to buy only once. This drill was designed smaller on purpose, with super torque. Smaller drills get in more spaces, especially in cabinetry. With 2 batts, and one always charging, you can build a deck or a fence quickly and sink 4.5 inch screws all day long. DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi can’t do that – they don’t have the torque this drill has. The charging station sings a Bach tune letting you know you have a fresh batt fully charged. It was designed for professionals that need to keep working without interruption. It’s balanced and ergonomic for the professional, and easy to carry up a tall ladder. I don’t have any tattoos. I’m thinking about getting a tattoo of this drill… but not really. My fav pro tools are Milwaukee, but their prices are nowhere near as friendly. On a side note, use Milwaukee drill bits on your Makita to save you time and frustration 😉

Do Not use this tool for hammer drilling it will destroy this tool. Poor choice on my part

Love the drill
Good price (at least when it was on sale) and it’s got just enough power for a battery powered drill. Battery seems to last a long time and it’s pretty durable. Definitely been dropped a few times and has never skipped a beat.

Makita = Great Quality. Also = Expensive Batteries.
Makita tools are generally very tough and reliable. The issue with Makita these days is the batteries. If you are positive you’re buying a Makita-made battery, it will work well and last a long time. If you get duped into buying a fake Makita battery – labeled Makita and sold as Makita – you will find Makita very frustrating. So you HAVE TO spend the $110 per battery to get quality. If you find a great deal for supposedly authentic Makita batteries (lots of these great deals on Amazon) and get fakes, for 2/3 or even 1/2 the cost, just don’t. They won’t work long and they’ll probably damage your tools. So buyer beware, yes, Makita is top quality. But you’re buying a commitment to rebuying very expensive batteries every few years. I’ve come to understand that Makita isn’t a tool company, it’s a battery company. The tools are just to get you hooked on buying more and more of their expensive batteries.

Runs well at a good price
For a bare tool its a reasonable price. We use many of these on the job so replacing them is just a part of business. This one worked just like all the others, I can’t tell any difference. The price was right and it was delivered fast. I will order again.

Motor Overheated and started smoking in 4 days
I have Makita batteries and many tools. My 7-8 year old Makita drill keyless chuck and clutch wore out so I bought this replacement. After about 5-6 3” holes the motor was really hot and smoke started to emit from the drill. I bought a Dewalt drill and the motor is not even getting warm after 20 holes.

XFD10 Makita
With a small line up of Makita tools am confident this tool will not disappoint and why I give the 5 star rating although haven’t used it yet as older batteries are not interchangeable with it but do have bee on correct battery.Star series Makita batteries (req’d for this model) do not interchange with older battery. The correct battery for this tool is BL1820 B / 18 V 2.Ah or a larger capacity BL1830 is 3.0 Ah.If there is a star indention pressed into top case of your battery on side where it mates with charger and tool it should be fine according to Makita.Best news is that this battery BL 1820 B specific to LXT tools with Star logo, fits the older 18v Makita charger DC18RD
