Great portable computing solution with larger screen to work with
I bought this laptop to do remote work as it has all the necessary specs I needed to run my VDI. The screen is large and bright enough to use remotely. The laptop is light weight and easy to carry. Desktop replacement laptops with 17 inch screens tend to be heavy and bulky and as I don’t need a disc drive I opted for the 16 inch screen to save space/weight. Battery life is decent and the USB power supply charges the battery quick. Windows 11 is easy enough to update and maintain and is what it is. Connectivity with WiFi and Bluetooth was quick and straight forward for my locations/devices. This laptop runs apps super fast and handles VDI connections and browsing/streaming without any issues.What I like; Light weight and USB C charger. The charging cord is long enough and comes with a cable management solution that keeps it at the right length. The camera has a physical privacy switch with an indicator to let you know it is deployed. The keyboard has a number pad with lock (although the button is too close to backspace and I fat finger it often – this is a me problem and not the laptop). The laptop hasn’t gotten very hot on me yet but with VDI/web work there isn’t much demand on the CPU/GPU and I don’t really game on it. I like the metal monitor backing as this will offer more protection over a plastic cover. Keyboard lights come on when keys are pressed and aren’t too bright for work on an airplane or waiting room environment.What I don’t like but are unique to me so I am not taking any stars off; It has ample ports but only 1 powered USB-C port. For this price point that is standard but I like to use 2 smaller portable monitors and they require 2 powered USB-C ports. Because of this I have to use the HDMI cable and bring an additional power supply and cable. I don’t run multiple monitors unless in a room with ample desk space and have purchased a port replicator but it didn’t resolve the situation. This is unique to my situation so not an issue with the Lenovo 16 G6 at all. I am very pleased with this laptop and while I haven’t gamed on it to see how well the graphics hold or how hot it gets, it has handled all my tasks will ease.

Mostly great, required maintenance for full use
This is fantastic for the price, but I am pretty computer literate and would have run into problems if I wasn’t. I love that you can upgrade the ram and storage for very reasonable costs, it has plenty of power for most users (might leave hardcore gamers lacking), but perfectly adequate for office work, streaming and light gaming (even multitasking across screens). I LOVE the built on ports and that the hub I run it with provides power, external display, storage and mouse dongle all through just one of the two USB-C ports making this great for around-the-house mobility. Screen is good, keyboard size and layout is good for me as on office worker without adjusting my fingers for weird condensed keyboards like some.Those problems I mentioned early: the fingerprint reader didn’t work at first, Bluetooth kept resetting, and WiFi still keeps resetting. I had to completely uninstall and reinstall a new driver for the fingerprint reader, same for Bluetooth. I tried that with the Wi-Fi but the WiFi keeps degrading; I reset it and it’s good for a few days until it starts failing more and more frequently and I have to uninstall and reinstall the router again (apparently this might be a Windows 11 thing.)
