Fun & Easy-to-Use Camera for Kids
We got this instant print camera for our 2-year-old, and she was able to use it with minimal assistance, which was a pleasant surprise! The buttons are simple to navigate, and the photo prints quickly, though the print quality isn’t super sharp—it’s similar to photo booth-style pictures in black and white. To get a clearer image, it’s best to hold the camera steady and use it in good lighting.The thermal paper rolls last for quite a while, allowing for lots of photo-taking fun. The color screen is detailed, and photos actually look better on-screen than when printed. The camera also features video recording, games, and digital zoom, adding extra ways for kids to enjoy it.Battery life is great—it lasts at least a day without needing a recharge. The camera feels sturdy, and despite being dropped once by our toddler, it held up without any damage.Overall, I’d recommend this as a fun, interactive gift for kids. It’s entertaining and educational, but I’d suggest supervised use to ensure the best experience.

Pretty cool, for what it is
I had never seen one of these cameras before. Of course I’m familiar with the more traditional instant cameras (Polaroid, Instax) but while those can be fun, the film cost is outrageous, and there is no ability to save the photos digitally, only a single print per snapshot.This one is quite different. It’s essentially a chunky digital camera, that can print photos instantly, or later on, in black & white, on what is basically the type of thermal paper that stores print receipts on.As you might imagine, that has several advantages and several disadvantages, some of which I will detail below:Advantages:1. Super cheap “film”: It uses a little roll of thermal paper to print out the photos, so it’s very inexpensive to operate, especially in comparison to traditional instant cameras. The roll lasts a long time, and the box includes 3 rolls, so you can print a ton of photos without much worry.2. It’s a digital camera: As such, it can store photos on the included microSD card, and transfer them to a PC using the (also included) USB microSD card reader. It can also record videos, plus a couple of other gimmicky features like digital frames and stickers for photos, some primitive games, and MP3 music playback, though with terrible speaker quality.3. It’s designed for kids: Kinda. More on that later, but it’s chunky and brightly colored, and the stickers and frames are kid style.4. It’s priced low. If you break or lose it, you won’t have to cry too much.5. It has a built-in selfie camera too. Not amazing quality, but works well enough.Disadvantages:1. Prints are black & white, low quality, thin, and not durable. Don’t count on them lasting a long time. Remember how those store receipts you saved sometimes fade to white or turn black after several weeks or months? It will probably happen to these, too. Luckily it saves the photos digitally, so you can view them in color, and reprint if desired.2. Low quality camera lens, electronics, and processing, with limited features, very slow and basic digital zoom, and selectable resolutions of 1MP to 12MP which don’t actually improve the quality at all. You may as well just keep it on 1MP, or at most 3MP as it definitely doesn’t have enough real resolution to capture any more detail.3. While it’s designed for kids, kinda, it would be very difficult for a kid to figure out all the features. The first thing they will try is tapping the screen, but it’s NOT a touch screen, you must navigate with buttons. An adult should definitely read the manual, figure out how to use the basic functions, and show the child, or I think a kid would just get frustrated with it.4. This particular model doesn’t have a flash. This isn’t really necessary in well-lit places, but it might have still come in handy.I also found a few curious things about the camera. For example, it has a “portrait” mode which is actually a filter that tries to make a line drawing of the photo. It doesn’t work well. I also discovered that it’s possible to copy a jpeg photo onto the microSD card from a PC, as long as it’s landscape, and a supported resolution. When I tried printing a higher quality photo I copied from my PC, it was apparent that while the print quality isn’t amazing, it’s arguably even being held back a bit more by the quality of the camera itself. I’ve included an example for comparison.Overall, this isn’t a perfect product, but for what it is, and especially in this price range, it’s a cool little device. I think it could be a lot of fun, without having to worry about the cost of the prints, which makes instant photography much more accessible, so I have gone ahead and rounded up to 5 stars instead of down to 4.

Cute beginner camera
This camera is super cute and easy to operate. It has a Home Screen with games as well as the camera view. The pictures can be customized to have different frames and stickers similar to what you could do on your phone. The paper is like receipt paper and prints the pictures in black and white. I did notice that the pictures that had a lot of white or that were taken in bright areas did not turn out as well as darker colors in the pictures. We have been taking pictures for a full day and we are still on the first roll of paper (it has two more), but you can order more paper if you need it. Rechargeable so you won’t be replacing batteries all the time. It’s kid friendly to use. My daughter who is 5 loves it.
