Dewalt corded 3/8″ drill is most balanced in my hand
I was lucky to find Dewalt corded drill so very balanced which will make it easy to use. The balance in my hand is very important to me, because that creates the function of making this tool be able to be accurately used without getting klutzy with the work performance. I also did not want to deal with problem of needing to charge up a drill just to use it. I think the portable drills requiring their own charger make those drills heavy and klutzy and off-balance. I would not have purchased a portable drill if that was the only option because I don’t need to have it slipping from me out of balance as an extension of my hand. So I am in love with this drill.

great for drilling in wood, but not easy to use driving screws
I am taking one star off because it is difficult to use for driving screws. If that is not an issue for you, then I would give it 5 stars. I am very happy with the drill. I use it for drilling 3/8″ holes for doweling. It has a good bit of power, but you’re not going to get the torque that a slower speed drill would get, or at least not in a very controllable way. This is because the trigger controls it from 0-2500 rpm, where as my DW235K goes from 0-850 rpm. The DW235K is much easier to drive screws with, although the amount of torque it generates could be dangerous. Other things are that it does not have the locking spindle that most battery drills have, and this makes the keyless chuck a bit harder to use, although this has not been a problem for me so far. The mid handle makes the drill much easier to hold and position, since the drill is better balanced. My overall goal with this drill was to have a powerful drill with higher RPMs for drilling wood, and I think it does that quite well.

A solid choice
a good and solid drill that lives up to the brand name. I have a similar drill from a popular cut-rate comapny that was given to me and its quality and usefulness doesn’t even come close to the DeWalt product. If you want a dependable 3/8″ drill for general home use and fairly frequent DIY projects, then I recommend it.
