Good power
I was shocked at how much better this works than my 40 year old Craftsman! Good power, easy to use. Seems well made.I wanted a plug in drill so I dont have to deal with charging batteries.

Quality you expect from DEWALT products.
Great drill like “back in the day” when men used drills that were corded and had a chuck key. Weight is just right and well balanced. Box stores in the Baltimore area only stock cumbersome heavy weight keyless drills for those who don’t know better. You will love this drill!

Good Unit But…
…I agree with one minor complaint pointed out by other evaluators. Overall, the drill works great with plenty of power and a solid chuck. The tool’s only flaw is in the speed control. I note that though the drill is supposed to have variable speed control, that control is not very sensitive and it tends to jump from one speed to the next. It does tend to hold that speed once you stop moving the trigger and maintains that speed but it is difficult to find any particular speed you may want. This is usually not a big problem but something a purchaser may want to know.Overall, a good tool with a good “feel”. I’m pleased with my purchase, Turn Key.

Dewalt Electric drill corded
Sometimes you just need the power of electric tools over cordless.

Corded, for those all day jobs.
Cords are great for long jobs. Dewalt doesn’t miss.

If you don’t *need* the portability that a rechargeable battery provides, then you really can’t go wrong getting a corded drill. Save a bunch of money, leave behind the worries of keeping a battery charged (or discovering every time you want to use the drill that it needs a charge), and save some weight/bulk on the drill itself. I’ve had a few occasions to put this to work for various tasks, drilling some pilot small holes, boring a larger hole, and driving some screws; in each case it was a delight to work with. The variable speed with how much you depress the trigger is easy to control, and feels working the gas pedal on a sports car, with loads of power to spare. My expectation of a keyed chuck was that you would only be able to tighten/loosen the chuck with the key. In fact, this is quite optional, hand twisting the chuck works just as well as it does on the keyless variety. The key is optional for extra leverage to screw the chuck especially tight (or loosen it up after doing so).

Appreciated the power and easy use of this drill. but then DEWALT is always good with its tools.

It is a very good corded drill but hard to control the speed with the trigger. I have a battery Dewalt drill where it is very easy to control the speed. I would not use this drill to screw in drywall as I would end up putting the screw through the drywall. It goes from slow to blast off with very little control in between!
