Nice quality oven, easy to use!
I use the oven every day, it works well. It probably runs at an average noise level, but is not what I’d call quiet. Doesn’t really matter though. Spacious oven, seems to be of good quality, with plenty of useful settings. Easy to use.

Loud buzzing vibration and door latch stiff to open.
This Cuisinart microwave is great but has two issues. I have owned about 10 microwaves and this is the loudest of all. When operating, the inside electronics buzz very loudly. The exterior stainless casing has no sound damping, so the buzzing noise is amplified like the casing is a drum. If light hand pressure is applied to the right hand side of the unit, the loudness is reduced by about 1/2. So, I placed a a few inches of foam tape on the side of a heavy wood kitchen knife holder and slid it up against the microwave to greatly reduce this loud buzzing. Other purchasers reportedly opened the microwave and determined that a large capacitor is mounted inside with no vibration isolation and this causes the loud buzzing noise when operating. Cuisinart needs to add sound insulating washers to the capacitor mounting and to add sound damping materials to the thin stainless shell to stop the offensive noise. This would solve the noise issue at very little extra cost. The other problem is that the door latch requires such force to open the door that the microwave slides on the counter when the door is opened. This problem was solved by using my left thumb against the door frame right next the the door, so that pulling on the door handle when opening does not cause the microwave to slide on the counter top each time the door is opened.

So far, so good. You CAN input specific cooking time.
We have used the Cuisinart CMW-100 for a week, and so far we really like it. I chose this over other machines given how much I like my other Cuisinart appliances plus I liked the stainless interior, which doesn’t seem to be very common for similarly -priced countertop models. I would have preferred a button to open the door instead of a handle, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The machine does not move when we open it by pulling the handle, which was a concern I had after reading some reviews. Please don’t listen to the reviews that claim you can’t input specific cooking times. Contrary to their claims, you aren’t stuck with only the preset express buttons of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 minutes & the extra 30 seconds on the START+30 seconds button. If they read the manual, they would find you can cook up to 99 minutes & 99 seconds. To do so, you must first press the POWER button once, then press the number keys for the specific cooking time, & then press START. I was used to my old microwave (that this replaced) on which we didn’t first have to push the power button before pressing the numbers, but we are quickly adapting. This difference is fine with me because the express buttons are very handy. It makes sense that you must first press POWER because with the express buttons being pre-programmed, you can’t just push 130, for example, for 1 minute 30 seconds, because when you press the 1, it automatically starts cooking for 1 minute. Also, I am grateful for the reviewer who noted that you must remove a thin sheet of plastic off of the machine before using it. There is a warning label on the top instructing you to remove the plastic. However since that label is right by a strip of clear tape along the top & top edge of the door holding the door closed, I can see how someone might mistakenly think that tape is the plastic referred to in the warning. The plastic you must remove is not easily visible-I had to look for it. The machine is less noisy than our old machine, but it does make an odd thunk noise every time we start it, almost like the metal is being sucked in a bit. We are learning to ignore it. Hopefully this product will have the same longevity of our other Cuisinarts.

    Defrost lacking
I bought this microwave because it looked like the same exact cuisinart microwave I have enjoyed for years and ended up having the press in power button broken. This one has a handle that you need to press up on the lever under handle that opens for. I could get use to it but the reason for this review is that the defrost function is lacking and takes twice as long to defrost per oz than my last cuisinart and the time what is recommended to defrost. I don’t know if it is a defect or if it is how this one works .

So good they are still making it over 15 years later!
My grandmother purchased this microwave back in 2007. She wasn’t the kind of person to buy anything without heavily researching it first. When she passed, I inherited it and it’s been amazing. It cooks food evenly and the interior is big enough for large bowls of whatever needs to be cooked/reheated.Unfortunately after 17 years it died and I was forced to try and find a replacement microwave.I looked at several options in the stores and wasn’t impressed by the quality of the materials used, so I went online to see what else I could find that would be as well-built as what I had.Imagine my surprise and excitement when I saw that Cuisinart is STILL making and selling this model… exactly the same?!? I immediately had ZERO CONCERNS about buying this for almost $200 because I knew the quality was there. It’s not often you find an item that not only through lasted 17 years of almost daily use , but was of such a great design that it hasn’t required updating since its debut!!!You’ll find other 5+ year reviews of this microwave… and most companies will tell you 10 years is the expected lifespan. I’m here to tell you from experience that this microwave is worth the price and will last you longer than 10 years. So happy to have been able to get the same model!

We like the Cuisinart Microwave. With the stainless steel interior it heats up very quickly, and easy to clean. We used it as a stand by microwave while our other one was coming. We used it mostly in the kitchen to heat up pancakes, casseroles, and other types of food. Can be expensive to purchase but worth it if you have limited space.

works well, good programs but wished the rings announcing the end would stop on opening the door.

You can’t set the number of seconds you want very easily, it is noisy and seems to take a longer than my past microwaves to heat the food
