We go through a lot of water from the water unit on the fridge, drinking, cooking, filling the Brita pitcher, and our city water comes from Lake Michigan-it’s horrible! Eventually we intend to put a filtration system on the entire house, but in the meantime, these will have to work.We have bought the “lesser “ priced versions, from multiple sources, and it’s led to one hassle after another. Either they don’t fit exactly right, they leak, they last less time, and worst case scenario was all three of the above.For a $15-20 difference, on a two pack, it’s not worth the hassle, the frustration, or worse yet, the long term consequences it very well could create in the future, including and up to, voiding the warranty on the whole refrigerated unit. No thanks.Consumers need to educate themselves when purchasing appliances, including what the pricing of consumables/maintenance parts will cost, BEFORE purchase the appliance.The money all adds up in the end, especially if they tend to be exorbitantly high. These are low to mid range in price, and on average they’ve each lasted approximately 10 months. We consider that a bargain at $27 each.
