Very good versatile device with a few shortcomings..
This is a versatile device. The good is it is small and has a decent number of ports. One usb c, one usb 3, 2 usb 2, and sd and micro sd card slots. And you get hard disk space. The bad is you need to connect two cables for it to work. One for data and one for power. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem since it gives you more ports once you connect it, but it is a minor annoyance. Something good is it seems to be working fine with extensions for both connections. The cables it comes with are very short. I attached it under my desk to have easy access to the sd card slot and usb ports and for that I think this is awesome. The hard disk space is just a nice bonus to have a scratch drive for whatever. I think this would be great for use with a laptop where you want more storage, ports and an sd card slot. Something else I will mention is I do not like the design of the micro sd card slot. It is difficult to get the card all the way in and is difficult to get it back out. It has to go in really far. I had to use my fingernail to press it in and get it to pop out. Also the micro sd card needs to be inserted upside down while regular sd is right side up. I actually recommend just using a micro sd card adapter instead of dealing with the micro sd card port. It is nice to have that port in a pinch though. Overall a good device and I think it can work great for a portable solution or permanent solution as I plan to use it.

Convenient and reliable
I truly love this all in one portable docking station/ external hard drive. It easily is recognized by my iPad mini and what is so convenient is how this external hard drive includes a micro SD slot. It makes things a lot easier for me to transfer my video’s from my camera on my helmet and the front and rear camera on my Harley. Although the storage can be larger, a 500gb goes a long way for me. Every time I transfer videos between the ipad mini and this hard drive, it is pretty quick and doesn’t take forever. With how compact this external hard drive is, I have reduced having to carry other cables and extra micro SD card as everything fits in this hard drive.

Nice multipurpose unit, but drive speeds are slow due to a spinning hard drive
I am a bit mixed on this item. I have the 500Gb dock and it does everything stated in the description. The unit is USB 3.0 and has a nice variety of connections for flash cards and USB.Dock functions: The dock functions as expected for a USB hub. I am getting up to USB 3.0 speeds, so it is good for things like cameras, keyboards, printers and thumb drives. The card readers function well too.Hard drive: This is a spinning hard drive, so speed is not so good. In fact, I was only able to get just over 100Mbps write speeds and just under 100Mbps read speeds using Black Magic Speed Test. While this is usable, it is nothing like the speed from an external SSD or faster external drive. And, I did use the optional power cord to ensure the unit received ample power for full speed. This is a secondary USB cable that provides power only.I did use the drive today to download, transfer and install software between two Macs and it worked well. Again, it isn’t super fast.As far as value, I prefer faster transfer speeds and would personally opt for an SSD(or NVMe) drive and a card reader if I could get both close to the price of this unit. If you are looking for simplicity and a single accessory, this works well.

Works as an HDD enclosure
My initial impression was that this was a niche use case; who needs a storage drive that doubles as a USB hub? Turns out, me. I need this. So, I took a guitar pick to the top of this, popped the top off, and tossed in my own 1TB HDD instead of the included 500GB one. And now I’m blissfully enjoying this as a game storage device attached to my desk for easy access USB and SD card access for my ROG Ally. It offers 1 USB C and three USB A, as well as SD and micro SD card access.
