Great motion tracking camera in locations with no power and good sunshine.
This solar power camera was perfect for my 3-camera setup, because there was no power source near it. However, it is at the back of our patio, and there is excellent sunshine. I have had it in place for over a month, and even in the morning the battery is showing 100% charge. I have it set to not record full time, though, so that helps. It only records when motion is detected.Like all Aosu cameras I have tried, this camera tracks motion and shines bright LED lights on the area. This allows it to have a very clear image without shrinking things down with a fisheye type lens. Night vision is very good, but when the lights come on the image is super clear and bright.Installation is super easy. Connects to our home wifi very reliably.Only caveat is that the power saving makes it a little slow to detect things, maybe 10 seconds or so. Also, I use the app an Android tablet to show the images inside, and because the camera is not on all the time it takes a few seconds to wake it up if I want to look at the back yard. My other cameras are powered full time, so I leave them on all the time so I can see the images of people approaching. The Aosu App works very well on Apple phones or iPads, and on Android phones. For Android tablets it is difficult to get them work! I bought 3 tablets before I found one that works – a Lenovo Tab11, and that makes an EXCELLENT way to display up to 4 cameras simultaneously. You can then tap on one camera, enlarge it, and talk through the camera to whoever is there! Really excellent.

Easy Setup, Good Video Quality, Responsive Customer Service
This camera was easy to setup through the Aosu app, and relatively easy to install under a soffit. The motion detection works well and the camera follows the source. The app has nice functionality and is relatively intuitive to navigate. The video quality is excellent and I like that you can use an SD card and edit the SD card from the app. I was a little hesitant about the solar panel keeping the battery adequately charged since it isn’t placed so that it gets full sun. But even with about 4 hours direct sunlight during the day, it has kept the battery charged. I had an issue with the camera’s PTZ that required me to periodically manually reposition it – something that should not occur. Customer service was responsive – actually responded to me outside of normal working hours – and attempted to walk me through a workaround. Although I think the camera is usable with the caveat that I may have to periodically intervene, the company is sending me a new camera – which I think is the right outcome.

Good Cameras – Unreasonable Multi-Camera Cloud Storage Fees
The cameras are great…THE DELIVERY WAS AWFUL!First, Amazon left the package of 2 cameras on the ground at the base of the mailbox, on the street, in plain view!! How moronic is that!! What’s worse is that the package would fit inside the mailbox! (big mailbox)CAMERAS – Originally, we purchased the Aosu video doorbell, and the images are so great that we decided to buy these compact solar human motion tracking cameras. They did not disappoint. They have very sharp and clear images. They are easy to set up and easy to install. They are self-charging via solar panels that are included and, so far, have performed very well.DOWNSIDE – Aosu offers Cloud Video Backup services that are reasonably priced for one or two devices. Back-up for more than two devices, and the cost is outrageous! The plans DISCOURAGE buying several Aosu devices. There is no incentive to back up more than two devices. At present, we have three video doorbell devices and four cameras. So, Asou offers plans for up to five cameras for $269.00 annually, which offers minimal, if any, quantity cost reduction. There is no plan for seven cameras. Aosu must take a hard look and drastically revamp this greedy cloud storage cost.BOTTOM LINE – the cameras and video doorbell products are good, but the cloud storage fees are greedily overpriced.

Hit or miss
These are the latest model and maybe there’s some software programming to take into consideration with these vs. the previous model. I ordered the two pack – don’t do that when they offer a single pack X 2, as you may get one that has issues and then you have to risk sending both back, even if one is great. The seller / manufacturer were quite helpful overall in addressing some concerns I had. These newer models have more bells and whistles like setting up a colored zone within the camera’s field of view to reduce triggers. It mostly works. They have an automated voice you can adjust on the phone app, turning the volume down or off, along with the advertised human form tracking and nighttime spot light that turns on after dark. The voice is interesting I guess, “You have entered a high security zone…” or something like that. Male voice only.I notice that if a thief were to walk close to the walls of the house and beneath the cameras that these tend to lose their target and then return to the default position. Otherwise they spin all the way around as described in the listing, following their target. As for the issues… One of them seemed to have a dysfunction in distance detecting despite being set on ‘far’. It’s currently been relocated to my back patio where it can’t fail to detect motion at a shorter distance. For a while it wasn’t even sending push notifications to my phone to alert me of activity.Non specific to the one camera, these seem to be programmed to pick up and review possible intruders and then they start recording if they determine someone doesn’t belong, i.e. they have entered the zone. So they may not seem to be working if trying to test them out – as I spent a lot of time doing this, only for them to actually be working afterall, you just can’t tell. No tracking changes, no push notifications nothing. I guess they have AI onboard to determine whether to activate even though the camera is looking at the scene. They also have a very wide lens view even without rotating so when testing for movement detection and human tracking, having the camera placed along the side of the house for example didn’t cause it to move at all because ‘it didn’t need to’.Inside the phone app that directly ties into the camera setup there’s a carryover feature for capturing the panorama of the camera’s range and to this day I don’t know what it was intended to accomplish?I did find that the camera didn’t operate correctly when setting up this panorama and then within the still image you can point the camera to a spot which becomes it’s starting point prior to tracking motion, at least in the outgoing model. On the new model it seem to create a software conflict causing the camera not to detect anything. The solution was to simply delete the panorama and leave it empty or blank. On this newer model there is an additional setting in the menus where you can take a picture with the camera and that can be chosen as the default for it to return to after tracking. It also has a zone feature in that section. All in all I do like this brand and their cameras, especially how they can auto track / rotate to follow the intruder. They do come with a lower resolution setting and I can’t tell if running at lower resolution is literally affecting the onboard recording to the SD card, or just how well it plays across my wifi router to my phone? I just leave it on the HD settings. You can also capture decent colored video at night, as mentioned in the description. One of the main reasons I went with this camera is that it does default to local storage on an SD card which means that if some saavy thief buys a wifi jammer, that it ‘most likely’ won’t keep the camera from working and recording them. The only difference is that no push alert or live capture would be possible from the phone app.Installation is a bit trickier on this model as you have more flexibility but also a second mount to place for the solar panel. On the outgoing model it’s an all in one and far quicker to setup. It is nice that the company supplies a sticker with the mounting holes to help with install. I will add here that the screws are the cheapest metal I’ve ever seen as the heads mushroom after installing them. Also, becareful not to overtighten as I managed to crack one of the plastic mounts when tightening the screw down.Due to my questioning the newer model I looked into returning, despite its updated features I opted to purchase two more cameras, but went with the previous models that were easier to install – no cabling concern either between panel and camera. That, and not wanting to chance another camera not seeming to work right. On the older model which also has the panorama feature that seemed buggy on this model, I also didn’t see a need to use it as the camera despite not having a ‘default’ setting simply returns automatically to the last position it was in prior to detecting motion. This position can be manually adjusted inside the phone app using a panning mode. So again, not even sure what the panorama feature is good for? It seemed to be a legacy carryover to the latest model despite causing some kind of non detection glitch.I’ve had them up and covering all of the windows where someone might try to force their way in, and one on the corner of the garage that looks down on the car and anyone entering the driveway. I would recommend these as they are doing great after a month so far. Not having used it much, but the phone app also has a feature to display up to 4 cameras simultaneously, if that’s of interest. Coupled with these cameras I had also installed the Ring doorbell, as sold locally – resulting in a bit more coverage when approaching the front door.Additionally, apart from installing PVC poles in windows and the sliding glass door, I found that Amazon sells a nifty latch mechanism that is screwed into the door jam and overlaps the edge of the door, when closed. I mounted it below the deadbolt as videos suggested this was the kick point. Very easy to install. There are several brands to choose from. I also replaced the very short door jam screws on the door hinges opting for the recommended 3″ long screws to bolster that side of the door.Additional advice here – tie up the lead for the garage door opener around its assembly so a thief cannot grab it from outside the closed door.

Vraiment très satisfait pour l’instant de cette caméra, elle manque encore de petites touches de personnalisation mais correspond entièrement au descriptif.

I have four of these cameras, and overall, I’m very satisfied. There’s no need to connect to a cloud provider unless you want to, and installation was straightforward—no drilling or running cables required. The cameras also have a lot of positive reviews, which I now understand why.Setup was quick and easy; everything worked right out of the box following the instructions. I didn’t need to contact customer support at all.WiFi coverage has been solid. I moved the hub around a few times to find the best spot between the front and back of the house, and once I found the right balance, the connection has remained strong.I charged the cameras once at the beginning using a USB power supply, and since then they’ve stayed at 100%—even through longer daylight hours.Installation outside was simple thanks to the solar panels. Honestly, getting the ladder out took longer than mounting the cameras. Coverage is good, offering flexibility in where you can place them.I haven’t had to tweak the motion settings much. The default settings catch almost everything, though it has missed a few visitors or someone leaving the house on occasion. We’re okay with that. We do get some false alerts in the back, probably from moving bushes, but we’d rather have that than miss real activity. The only minor issue is that clearing data from the hub is a bit manual and repetitive. That’s the one UI improvement we’d suggest.App notifications are impressively fast—we usually get an alert before the person even knocks on the door. After two years of use, we’re very happy. The performance and features have met our needs, the system has been reliable and easy to use, and the price feels reasonable for what you get.

I am giving this camera a five star review for several factors. It is very clear and picks up everything. It is an excellent security device and customer service is stellar. I have had these cameras since Nov. 2024 and called customer service because it could not pick up on my Samsung device. The number one customer experience for me is the after care and customer service for which this company went above and beyond, they were amazing. Ann was absolutely patient, helpful and due to her excellent customer service I was prompted to give this review.
