Cute little camera
Cute little camera, yes camera. It does take pictures, it does take video, are they great quality, not really, but anyone who thinks this is more than it is, really needs a reality check. It’s basic, it’s cute. It’s not intuitive in the least. Will your phone take better pictures? Sure. Will a professional photographer think it’s great? I doubt it. But it’s unique, it’s fun, and it’s that’s pretty much it. Do I think it’s over priced yeah it is but what isn’t.

Garbage in a cute package
Full disclosure: I’m a semi-pro photographer who specializes in stock and commercial photography. When my daughter asked for a cute little digital camera, I was thrilled and saw this one pop up as an option. The vintage look totally appealed to me, and I thought, for the price, it would be … ok. Good enough for a 13 year old to have a first camera.I was wrong. So wrong. It is garbage not worth the design put into it. Ok, the DESIGN is ok. The camera (if you dare call it that) is CUTE. Possibly adorable. If you want a non-camera to take non-photos but basically just to look cute, I would a. question your sanity, b. recommend this molded hunk of cute plastic! For looking adorable while you don’t take pictures, you won’t be disappointed! However … If you actually want to take and use any photo with this device, look elsewhere.Video: it takes video! This blew my mind because it doesn’t look like the sort of thing that can take pictures let alone videos. It DOES take video, but it doesn’t record sound. So that leaves me with the burning question of … WTH (what the heck)? WHY??Usability: You will need the instruction manual Every Single Time you want to use the camera. No button is labeled, no button is intuitive, there are button-like things that aren’t actual buttons, and buttons that don’t look like buttons. I don’t know what anything does, honestly, beyond taking silent video (see above — which I guess goes along with the retro aesthetic? Ha!), and taking photographs. I don’t *think* there are any filters or options for exposure, color balance, etc. but there might be? I can’t figure out how to figure out how to change any settings if there are any! And again, I’m a semi-pro photographer with several high-end cameras. I know how to set my ISO, shutter speed, shoot RAW, etc.Now for the kicker: image quality. It is trash. Below trash. Get your child a first-generation cell phone and you will have better (by about 1k percent) optics. The megapixels of the final images are … wait for it … 3456 × 3456 which is 12mp. This is actually respectable (my first digital camera was something like 8mp!), BUT the quality of those pixels is just plain bad. Purple fringing, distortion, noise, it’s all there and all there in a big way. You will NOT be able to capture print-ready images with this camera. You won’t be able to capture web-ready shots either, unless you’re planning to use them thumbnail size. I’m uploading a few shots (screenshots) just to show how it did capturing things like faces or a sunset (would never know the sky was flooded with color, would you!). Hard pass, do not recommend, immediate recycle, I don’t even have words to express how much I dislike this camera. I mean, beyond it being weirdly cute, in all its useless glory.I could not be more DISpleased with a camera. So I guess it wins the award for something!

Tiny camera to use
Nice camera and feels like i am working a old piece of history in my hands. Initiating the feeling but of course it not perfect as no audio is recorded just the video. I do see a little delay when i stop the crank to pause the recording but i do like how it gives you some time to continue as a countdown starts. It small and has a interesting way of looking and taking photos or videos but after a while it could get annoying and eye soring. It does seem a little fragile as it hand size but I could fit in my pocket if i wanted to.

Cute, but mostly useless
Not sure how to evaluate this product. On the one hand you know this is just a gimmick. And yes, if you were to put it somewhere just as an ornament, it would look nice or give you some attention from colleagues. Maybe as a background for your vlog … but…this thing is tiny. Nowhere near the size the actual classic camera was. Smaller than my coffee cup so you’ll put it on a shelf and no one will notice it unless you have a collection of miniature things…Usability isn’t the greatest either if you plan to actually use it. There are way too many buttons that feel like they have nonourppse. A button to power on and off while holding it down, then pressing it for a menu and using the dial would be ideal. But there are 4 buttons…and I still don’t know which one is which.Quality of image or video is bad…the toy camera my kids have makes about the same quality. You’d be better off using your phone as it would be with you anyways rather than this tiny but bulky thing. The Flap on top that opens up so you can see the screen is also not very usable. Cheap material and bad mechanism. When I was thinking of just giving this to my kids, that part had me worried that they’ll just destroy it within a day. You’ve got money to spare or just want a fun gift at the $50 price range for a photographer who has everything, this could be fun. But it’s not something I’d use anywhere for any type of photography i plan to look at someday. Artifacts, low resolution, even worse in low light conditions…Just make sure you get this for the right reasons….Pic of camera from my phone. Other teo from this camera without editing. A pic of my son would probably be flagged but it’s quality was even worse with pixelation of the face making it look bad…
