Great customer service!
I bought this camera around two years ago. I used it off and on to watch my animals. It worked fine for awhile. Not the best camera quality, but was good enough for the price. I had it disconnected for awhile and left it on a high up shelf. I just recently needed it again, so I plugged it in. It has completely stopped working. I don’t know why. Nothing had happened to it. So just know they randomly die on you for no good reason.Update: Their customer service is great! I received an email saying that they would like to send me a brand new camera for free. It arrived only a few days later and it works great! Buy from here if you want amazing customer service!

Great quality at a great price! Customer service is wonderful!
This is a GEM of a product at a VERY good price! It works well & there are no monthly fees UNLESS you decide to have recordings you can look back on if you are having anyone come into your home while you are not present. It has very good picture quality on my phone & I can watch my disabled mom from anywhere. IF I need to run to wal-mart or any errands, I just open the app & check on her! What a convenience & lifesaver of my mental health! lol I don’t have to stress every 10 min & rush out of places wondering if she’s ok! The customer service responds within 24 hours but it’s always been a very quick reply! They are very helpful & courteous! I would def buy from them again if I’m in need. I’ve had this product for a year now & I think I paid $15. It’s still working like a charm! You won’t regret buying from them! Best wishes, & God bless…

Great Security Camera
I previously bought 2 of these cameras a few years ago. I liked them so much, I had to buy 2 more. I’m very satisfied. Easy setup through the app. You do have to purchase a subscription to the cloud, if you want longer video than 15sec clips. I decided to do sd card instead of cloud storage. The 2k quality is great. The only thing that’s aggravating, when a bad storm comes through knocks my wifi out. I have to hassle over trying to reconnect. But first setup is a piece of cake. You won’t be disappointed.

worth the price
i only paid $11 for this and it’s definitely worth it. very easy to set up and connect to wifi and the app is good too. two annoying things- you can’t mount the camera to the wall if you want the view to be straight. it can either be sat on the base or upside down for the video to be the correct orientation. the super annoying thing is that only one person can be logged into the app at a time so i constantly have to log back in. we use this as a dog cam and have 3 people that check in on her and we have to resign in every time. pretty good quality too even in the dark. attached is ruby.

WHO DID IT, this camera helped us solve the mystery!!
Ok.. I got a little brave on why I bought this camera… I have had a issue with random rodents/birds/lizarrds appearing in my bedroom overnight… While i thought they were coming in thru my dog door (so my two dogs can goto the restroom without any restrictions).. but i was only half right.. I put the camera pointing to the dog door and went to bed.. I was able to view the footage to find out that 2 of my 3 cats decided to bring in a “toy” thru the dog door.. this round it was a small mouse… kitty #1 brings it in the dog door with the mouse in her mouth.. she proceeded to put it down on the floor and “play” with the mouse.. the mouse did try to move away from the cat, but it was not in 100% shape (i assume from the cat catching it).. so the camera caught the cat playing with the mouse until it idn’t move anymore.. and thats when it was brough into my bedroom and left near my bed.. as a gift from the kitty… this camera was able to clearly show the full story. something small, simple and able to review footage… Works pefect for my needs, but I bet you can find other needs for it too (why are you looking at reviews to begin with).. I have the camera still pointing at the back door, but haven’t had a need to review footage… I wish I woudl have saved the video from it, but I was lost due to it being too old.. Great small camera, woudl purchase again!!

Overall a nice camera but with one major defect.————-Had a somewhat lengthy conversation with customer service and let’s just say it was not very helpful. They wanted to blame MY network for the problem and not their product. A device should never stop asking for an IP address on a network till it gets one. My server takes around 7 minutes to boot, so for that 7 minutes DHCP services are down. It’s simply inexcusable that a device would only sent requests for so long then just stop. At a bare minimum it should reboot and then try again. Here is part of the conversation I had with them.————————From: MeDate: 2023-05-23 10:30To: MargieSubject: Re: Urgent, need your reply-Message about your camera-CeliaThe issue I have is really in two parts. First, the device seems to only try to obtain an IP address for a short time after booting up. My network is run by a slower 12th gen(~2013) Dell Poweredge so it can take up to 7 minutes for the DHCP server to be up and running after a power outage. So the cameras appear to stop trying to get an IP address before that.Secondly, Absent a connection the cameras don’t record events. If they have powered up and have local storage I would expect them to still capture events. Then when they get an ip address return to normal operation. I don’t know if it’s just the IP address they are waiting for or an active internet connection. Either way they likely have all the settings they need saved locally so there really is no reason to wait on recording.Where I live brief power outages are common and can be expected every 7-14 days.————————————————————-On Tue, May 23, 2023 at 3:26 AM service@galayou-store.com wrote:Hi, thank you for your reply. For the first issue, this problem is more about the DHCP setting in the router. Under normal circumstances, the camera will automatically restore the network connection and get back online within a few minutes after disconnecting. If your camera can’t get an IP address in time after disconnection, you can try to modify the DHCP setting in your router to see if modifying the DHCP setting works for you.For part 2, the camera is a wireless WiFi verison, connected wirelessly to the router, and then install the application on your phone and watch the stored video recorder files so that you may not have the video files while you are disconnected. This is also true for other brands of security cameras, such as Wyze, Reolink, Yi’s cameras, and not only Galayou’s cameras have this problem.I hope you can understanding, as a developing company. If there is a mature enough technology that can make the WiFi camera save videos to SD card even when the network is disconnected, our company will also update the technology in time, because the customer’s demand is the driving force of our production.Based on what you said, I think a smart battery wireless camera would be more suitable for your needs. Battery cameras can work for months on a single charge.Overall, the price of this camera is very low, and his functions can meet the daily use. What’s more, could you pls kindly send me your order for checking?service@galayou-store.com——————————————–From: MeDate: 2023-05-23 22:16To: service@galayou-store.comSubject: Re: Re: Urgent, need your reply-Message about your camera-CeliaIt’s not a setting problem on the server. Other devices can connect fine even with the cameras just sitting there. The cameras themselves can connect just fine too once the server is fully up and they are powered up AFTER the server is running. It’s a problem with the cameras no longer asking for an IP address after some amount of time.————————————-The rest of the conversation was simply them asking me for the SN of the devices to check issues. Which the only real issue is the device not connecting to the network after failing to get a DHCP response after some time. Which should be a simple firmware fix.—————–<6/1 edit>—————–They now say they will work on the issue and will eventually patch the issue. I have bumped by rating accordingly. If they fix it, I will update my review. Which likely will result in a 5 out of 5 stars.
Overall I have to give the camera a fairly high mark. It works and has clear imagery. Setup was simple and fast and the ability to set the motion activation area is a plus so you can still see other areas without them triggering the camera falsely. But despite the nice features it has a MAJOR defect that I just found out about today. Apparently when on my way to work we had a temporary power outage. It lasted only 5 minutes, but the cameras were down all day because of this. It seems that The cameras will only try to connect to wifi a short time then never try again. From ~8:12 am to 4:30PM my cameras were down. Once home I connected to my wifi via my phone no problems. So I power cycled the cameras and they quickly connected perfectly. This is a major problem but it gets even worse. While sitting disconnected the cameras will not record events. So I have no idea what happened all day at home. Not good for security cameras with local storage and no excuse either. This is a major oversight by GALAYOU and one I hope they plan on addressing with a firmware update, if they can even be updated.——–
