MetroPCS LTE (5 of the 6 LTE channels work) with this A16 6GB
MetroPCS had no issues setting up this phone for their GSM LTE network the only channel it doesn’t connect to is b71 but can still connect to 5 out of 6 LTE channels. The phone comes preprogrammed in Spanish but the first screen gives you the option to select English by drop down tab. Some have stated this phone cannot accept 2 sim cards, that is incorrect it will do 2 sim cards or 1 sim 1 microSD card. This A16 4G comes with gorilla glass and a 6.7″ screen which is very bright, the speaker phone is quite loud and overall screen smoothness is quite nice, worth the bargain price!I am submitting this review since I just setup 2 of these phones for my old parents and they are quite happy with this A16 4G phone.. Very good quality for such a small price. I recommend this with 5 stars!

US carriers WILL NOT activate this phone.
Verizon can’t, they are CDMA, which this phone is not. TMobile is GSM, but do not have this phone on they’re approved list. They may be able to activate it in March 2025, but thats iffy. Have spent 3 days calling and visiting local carriers, with no luck. Seattle WA (home if tmobile). Been told if it is activated in another country, with another country’s Calling Plan /wireless service, I could use it on the USA- but only via the non-US plan & billing. Looks like I bought my mom a pretty camera for Christmas- she can’t use it as a phone. 2stars for camera quality and pretty green color.

So far the phone is working just fine. Did have a few small issues data transfer as some of my contacts did not transfer, but I caught those. My kids need new phones soon, and I am thinking of getting a few more. Seriously can’t complain for the price. I prefer it over my work cell – Pixel 9a

This phone is awesome! I bought it to use secure apps like banking apps since my other phone a S9+ is rooted and I can’t use such apps on it. I’m actually thinking of buying a second Galaxy A16 it’s so nice! Mind you I do not play games on my phone I can a computer for that. The item I received is a UAE/MiddleEast region phone (aka GCC) which is highly prized for it’s resale value, since it is free from EU restrictions and North American lock downs. You can easily unlock the bootloader on this phone if you so desired, which is what I’ll be doing after the 6 years of guaranteed updates from Samsung. If the battery lasts that long, otherwise I’ll just buy another upgraded version since they are so reasonably priced. Also I don’t understand what that other review is talking about it not being a dual sim phone when it absolutely is a dual sim phone. Actually it’s hybrid, you can either have dual sims or sim and sdcard. It also supports esim. I’m going to be happy for a long long time with this phone now that I’ve deleted/disabled all the google/samsung bloat.
