The Samsung Galaxy A16 offers a solid mix of features tailored for budget-conscious users while maintaining the quality expected of the Galaxy A series. It boasts a vibrant 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080×2340, delivering excellent clarity and color reproduction. The device is available with the Mideatek Helio G99, with a focus on providing stable everyday performance. With a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor, the phone ensures decent photography capabilities. A 13MP front-facing camera complements the setup for selfies and video calls. It runs on Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.1, supported by six promised major software updates, ensuring long-term usability. While its 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging, the lack of a charger in the box may require an additional purchase. Expandable storage via microSD is a welcome addition. With features like an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, 5G connectivity, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader, the Galaxy A16 5G balances affordability with functionality, making it an appealing option for users seeking modern essentials on a budget. AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile customers: Simply place your active Sim card into the device to begin connecting to the network. MVNO customers(Metro, Mint, Ultra, Xfinity, Straight Talk, Spectrum, Cricket, etc.): You will need to “activate” your IMEI with a representative over a phone call(Automated methods will not work). Initially, they will tell you the device is not compatible. You will need to ask them to record the IMEI number anyway. Once that is complete, you will need to ensure you place the sim card into the corresponding slot. IMEI 1 is assigned to sim card slot 1. IMEI 2 is assigned to sim card slot 2. If all prior steps have been properly completed, your phone should begin to operate as expected after a few minutes.

Does the job.
Bought to use abroad. It worked perfectly as expected. The phone is basic but very functional for the price paid. I appreciate the purchase.

4G Phones are obsolete
if the picture is of the 4G phone i ordered it is obsolete. Almost all carriers have moved to 5G already or will do so by 1/1/2026. I do not understand why the 4G is still on the market. I have ordered a 5G phone from Amazon.

Compatability sucks
I’ve been using budget Samsung phones for 5 years now. This is the first one that I’ve seen not compatible with T-Mobile… This departure from the norm deserves more than some small text at the bottom of the specifications… Waste of time and space.

Check frequency first
The local carrier had trouble getting this phone connected. Came to find out the phone was from the United Emerates and was a different frequency phone for international. They should tell you if the phones are a different frequecncy. Finally got it working. It I was told if it’s being used internationally it could give me problems.
